The NA2 Type R was produced with nothing but performance in mind. Its weight has been shaved to be 100kg lighter than the normal NSX, thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber parts and removal of audio and air conditioning unit.
The 290hp N/A engine has been hand assembled, balanced and blue-printed as racing programs would normally do and it has been proven to perform in the holy Green Hell where Motoharu Kurosawa clocked 7:56, a time matched to the much more powerful Porsche 996 Turbo and Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale despite having much less power.
