Just a couple of months since the tease of an all-new electric range, BMW has announced the arrival of their iX3 in Malaysia. The new iX3 joins the BMW lineup as the electric variant of the petrol-powered X3 while it is also the second full-electric vehicle from BMW’s current electric line-up. The iX3 will be offered in two variants which BMW states “it offers guilt-free power, performance and style that is the epitome of Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure”.
Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “The arrival of the First-Ever BMW iX3 is made especially significant with these distinct variants that provide our loyal customers and fans of electric mobility in Malaysia the Power of Choice – without compromising on power, performance or safety. Alongside our upcoming fleet of new BMW i vehicles, the First-Ever BMW iX3 is set to spur a new generation of Electric Vehicle (EV) owners in Malaysia, as the all-electric SAV presents a wealth of possibilities with its all-rounded qualities in innovation and design language to make the Electric Premium Ownership Experience even more enjoyable.”
Impressively Inspiring Electrification
The “Inspiring” comes in as the base model for the iX3 here in Malaysia, however that does not mean that the iX3 Inspiring is basic in any way. The Inspiring is equipped with the M Sports package inclusive of the M leather steering wheel, M high-gloss Shadow Line and illuminated door sills. The wheels offered for the Inspiring are BMW’s 19-inch aerodynamic 842 Bicolour. Also, pre-heating and automatic air conditioning with 3-zone control, panoramic glass roof, front sport seats, adaptive suspension, automatic tailgate operation, parking assistant as well as BMW’s Driving Assistant Professional are opted for the iX3 Inspiring.
However, for the range topping iX3 Impressive, all of the aforementioned options above are inclusive except for the wheels. The Impressive receives larger 20-inch M aerodynamic 890 M Bicolour wheels. Additional equipment among others include a Harmon Kardon surround sound system with BMW IconicSounds Electric, Surround Camera and a Head Up Display (HUD). As like other range-topping BMWs, the headlamps are BMW’s Laserlight. Additional equipment includes acoustic glazing and BMW’s gesture control.
As standard, the all-new BMW iX3 will be equipped with the dynamic M Sport package whether you opt for the Inspiring and Impressive variant. Both variants are also equipped with an 80-kWh lithium-ion battery, offering a range of up to 461km with 286hp. The iX3 also supports DC fast charging at rates of up to 150kW for 80% charge in 32 minutes, while AC charging at up to 11kW is supported via a Type 2 connector for 100% in approximately 7.5 hours.
The brand new BMW iX3 is currently available for pre-booking with the iX3 Inspiring variant at RM 335,800.00 and the X3 Impressive variant at RM 354,800.00 in Peninsular Malaysia inclusive of BMW’s Service & Repair 5-Year Extended Warranty and 6-Year Service Package as well as the Power Package which comes with the BMW i Wallbox and BMW Standard Charging Cable.
