Brabus is the people you call when your Mercedes-AMG is simply not enough. But Brabus' latest creation will give the guy with a Porsche 911 Carrera S a run for their money. The already mighty Mercedes-AMG A45 S is no slouch to begin with if you are unaware. However, the German tuning firm managed to squeeze out a few more ponies and torque from the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The confusingly named the B45-450 comes with a new tuning map for the engine, along side Brabus' PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit, a special airduct for the airbox and Brabus' BoostXtra adapter. To those who love the sound of pops and bangs, rejoice as the Brabus BoostXtra adapter allows the turbocharged engine to make "a sporty blow-off noise like a racecar". Hopefully it doesn't sound like a mouse sneezing in your engine bay.
Supercar performance for the superhatch.
It's rather amazing how technology has affected cars of today. 20 years ago, a Ferrari Modena only made 400hp while the stock 2021 Mercedes-AMG A45 S currently makes 416hp. Then comes Brabus and their tuning the knowhow, pumping an additional 28hp and 50Nm of torque over the standard engine. Currently producing a respectable 444hp and 550Nm with a claimed 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds as compared to the stock's 3.9 seconds.
