More Power Than You Could Ask For
From its designation, probably some of you have already figured that this beast does not qualify in entering any races out there. While that might sound like a bad thing, it is also the green light for Ferrari to go wild with it as it is no longer limited by the FIA rulebook.
The twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V8 power plant now churns out a healthy 680-horsepower, which is more than what you will get from the GT3 or GTE. Ferrari has also given new transmission ratios and carbon fiber clutch to deal with the increase power and torque.
Since the car is made from lessons learnt from their racing programs, the GT Modificata gets a suspension system from the GTE. The braking system is also that has been proven on the track as it is one that was originally used by the GT3. Not to forget, the ABS system also comes from the GT3, but has been set up specifically for this special model.
The Black Magic of Aerodynamics
No Ferrari is complete without getting any touches in the aero department, and this car is no exception. The GT Modificata receives revamped high-downforce aerodynamics which shifted the pressure center forward. This allows the car go generate higher downforce at the front without increasing overall drag. The total downforce generated is rated at more than 1,000kg at 230 km/h.
As a track model, this car comes standard with a V-Box in conjunction with Bosch's telemetry data acquisition system, a second seat, as well as a tire pressure management system. In typical Ferrari fashion, customers also have the liberty to customize the aesthetics of the exterior and interior.
Buying this car however, is not as straight-forward as one may think. It will only be available to drivers who have participated in the Competizioni GT, a track program run by Ferrari.
